Speeding home from a late night at work? Out and and about on a day of errands? Stoned out of your mind and craving that special something? Sounds like the normal American hunger prognosis is in order: get fast food!
As you may know, most fast food places (henceforth referred to as 'burger joints') offer discounted bundles of items called "meals" or "combos." Sandwich, fries, drink; all standard practice. The problem you have, however, is the amount you get you order--you need a big feast for that big appetite you have. Answer? Super size it.
I've noticed in my burger joint experience that "upgrading" my purchase is a convenient way to add more for very little. However, it recently dawned on me that the entire institution is a sham. Sure, I may get 50% more fries and 50% more drink, but the sandwich isn't altered one bit. When you stand back and look at the entire thing, only the things on the side get bigger.

Imagine if the above "combo" had been upgraded to "medium" status--the container of fries would be nearly double in size, and the cup would probably be one of those enormous plastic ones that are skinny on the bottom but huge on the top. What about the burger? It'd still be the same ole thing.
Okay, okay, we all know about Morgan Spurlock's Super Size Me, and I'm not saying we need to be eating fast food all the time, but I'd like a complete upgrade for my lunch if I pay for it. The entire thing needs to be bigger, I say! Throw another patty on, make it bigger, I don't know, just do something to make the sandwich bigger, too.
I'd hate to go to any number of burger joints and feel gipped because my sandwich didn't match my fries and drink. False advertising, I say!
